Technical Superintendent | Singapore
Are you an experienced marine engineering professional looking to transition into or further develop a shore-based career?
We are seeking a Technical Superintendent with Class 1 COC to support the safe, efficient, and reliable technical operation of our fleet. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with relevant seagoing engineering experience and a strong understanding of vessel maintenance and technical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the technical performance, maintenance, and operational readiness of vessels within the assigned fleet.
- Monitor vessel compliance with applicable international regulations, Flag State, Classification Society, and company requirements.
- Coordinate planned maintenance, repairs, defect rectification, and technical work required to maintain vessel reliability and safety.
- Conduct vessel inspections and follow up on technical findings, corrective actions, and outstanding maintenance items.
- Provide technical support and guidance to Masters, Chief Engineers, and onboard personnel on vessel machinery, maintenance, and operational matters.
- Review technical reports, maintenance records, defects, and vessel performance to identify areas requiring attention and continuous improvement.
- Liaise with vessel crews, management, charterers, Flag Administrations, Classification Societies, customers, shipyards, service providers, and external parties on technical matters.
- Assist in preparing vessels for internal and external audits, inspections, dry-docking, repairs, and other planned technical activities.
- Promote high standards of technical performance, safety, reliability, and compliance across the fleet.
What We’re Looking For
- Marine Engineer / Chief Engineer background with Class 1 COC
- Relevant seagoing engineering experience, preferably with experience in a shore-based technical role.
- Good understanding of vessel machinery, maintenance, planned maintenance systems, and technical operations.
- Strong understanding of international maritime regulations, industry standards, and best practices, including SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, ISM Code, ISPS Code, IGF Code, SIRE, CDI, and SIGTTO guidelines, where applicable.
- Strong technical problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with vessel and shore-based teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and technical report preparation.
